  3. DCP/SPUW&C welcomed the participants. The participants were informed about the action taken on the points/issues raised by them in the last meeting. The participants were also informed that Shri Taj Hassan, Spl. C.P./Traffic is on leave and the officer who is looking after his work is busy in another meeting.
  4. The following issues were raised during the meeting:-
    • In the Jurisdiction of P.S. Mangol Puri, in some of the areas like Lal Quarter, road to Shamshan Ghat, Bhumiheen camp, etc., young boys are seen consuming smack, alcohol, etc., publically. There is a need to curb sale of smack, illicit liquor in these areas, as consumption of smack, alcohol by such young boys lead to harassment of women and general crime.
    • Police presence in and around the area of Metro Station Badarpur, road leading to Sarita Vihar from Modi Flyover, Dhaula Kuwan to Munirka is not adequate and women commuting through these areas feel unsafe.
    • Outsiders have captured the MCD Public Toilets situated at Subhash Camp, Ambedkar Nagar and Dakshin Puri. Drug addicts and antisocial elements occupy these toilets, which makes it difficult for the ladies to use them.
    • The participants were concerned about rising incidents of acid attacks on women and suggested that there should be some restriction on the sale of acid.
    • In DTC buses women helpline numbers are mentioned as WHL, instead of writing in abbreviated form i.e., WHL it should be written as "Women Helpline Number".
  5. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the chair and it was informed that the next meeting on this issue shall be held on the last Friday of January 2014, i.e. 31.01.14.
